Standards of Conduct

Kingmakers RP is a rules-light sandbox writing community. At Kingmakers RP, there's no need to spend hours reading custom lore to understand the setting. There's no stat system for character growth. There's no approval system for character creation. The learning curve is about as shallow as it gets: just create your character and start RPing. We have a basic set of rules; please abide by them.

• Plagiarism is unacceptable. Please avoid direct rips of characters from your favorite media. If you absolutely must play your homage to Character X, make your version different in significant ways.
• In Kingmakers RP, you can write anyone from a serf to a thousand-year-old sorceress queen. However, please remember that immortal, indestructible, omnipotent, and omniscient characters tend to attract attention from peasant mobs with torches and pitchforks.
• In Kingmakers RP, you can create kingdoms and other settings. However, please remember that others are free to write in your settings, within reason.
• We follow the RPG Rating Scale at a rating of 2/2/2. "Swearing is generally permitted, to a point. Sexual content is permitted; explicit narration is not allowed. Explicit violence is permitted." Therefore, please avoid extremes in profanity, sexual content, and gore (including graphic torture). Practice the 'fade to black.' Pornography and detailed nudity are unacceptable. 

• Please be wise in how you handle issues of rape and sexual assault, including statutory rape. Backstory material or 'offscreen' events are usually acceptable if handled sensitively and without excessive detail. 'Onscreen' sexual assault is not acceptable. 
• Offense is inevitable, but real harassment is unacceptable.

• Killing another writer's PC or well-established NPC without permission is unacceptable. In combat between characters or armies, please allow your opponent to choose the results of your attacks, within reason.
