"You don't shay..." Pern remarked on his warning of care. Something told her Ignatius wouldn't be long for the very same accident as herself. She might be an Orc raised by a Man but certainly some characteristics had imprinted on her through childhood. Neither of them were particularly swift or graceful. They arrived at the Gilded Feather not long after, finding both Ignatius and the Mystmarch Mage deep in discussion of early century Runic value versus modern day iterations. This young Mage seemed quite ruffled by the old man's claims. "Nilli, there you are, right on time. Selma brought over fresh hare from the eastern fields, why don't you skin them up for dinner for our guests." "Gueshtsh?" Pern blinked, glancing between the Mage and the Knight, "I...of coursh." Smiling behind his pointed beard, Ignatius sank back into his chair with his arms on the rests and looked to Kaelen Silverblood, "How did the meeting go? Productive, hm?"

The shop was much as they had left it. The old man, Ignatius, was still in conversation with the Runic Circle mage that Kaelen had brought with him. The mage was suppose to be the one to speak with the council over the matter of the student and mage exchange, yet Kaelen had to take over while the man entertained himself and the older man. The debate they were having surprised the not-so-knightly Kaelen by being something of interest to him, which was not something he expected. He did enjoy more scholarly conversations but the mages seemed to take it from fun to tedious for him. They always went as obscure as possible to justify their arguments while Kaelen liked to approach more well known material at different angles. It infuriated them that he was not viewing the material the same as they did and were taught to. But he was no scholar. He was a soldier, a diplomat, and occasionally an adviser. Kaelen's lovely companion Pern was sent to go prepare a meal after they had arrived. It seemed the older man was planning to have them as his guests for the evening. A pleasant surprise, but it seemed to have ruffled a few feathers for the orcess. It was not so much directly stated or shown however by her. A bit of her tone and reaction to them being guests was all. Perhaps it was not even that much of a ruffling for her now that the moment had past. All Kaelen knew was that her reaction entertained the old man and that was enough for him. "It was productive, but the college folk were more stubborn than the Guild members on issues." Kaelen replied as he began to unstrap his sword from his back while moving to join the old man. He pulled out the results of the meeting from his cloak and turned to the mage. He said as he held the paper out to them, "Speaking of which, you need to study the agreement. I handled your job of speaking on the college exchange. You might want to be ready to explain why your name isn't on there to the Runic Circle council." The Mage took the papers with a bit of a huff, but retreated to a corner of the shop to do as he was told. He knew Kaelen was right about his need to explain later. Kaelen chuckled a bit then turned his attention back to the old man. He said, "Ignatius was it? I heard talk of runes when we walked in. What was it you were discussing exactly? I have studied runes some myself."

"Mmm," said Ignatius in return, rubbing his chin thoughtfully in consideration. The Foarde was not beyond its stubborn nature where those considered outside the circle of mages were concerned. Much like any guild, outside opinion was not generally received well. The man produced a pipe from a side table and began packing it with smoking leaves. "Oh, the age-old debate of historic runes versus modern form. The same every old Runic geezer debates with his young pupils ... at least until all the geezers are gone. Won't be long now till what we grew Mastering will be forgotten. So much has already been lost to the same consequences. So few are truly invested in what came before ... not like my Nilli. Were she a proper Mage taught and learned there'd be hope for the lore yet." Kaelen Silverblood Silverblood
