NAME: Paku, the Floating One, the lonely master, Master Paku, the sage of masks.
GENDER: Male, in as much as a floating possessed mask can be said to have a gender.
AGE: He's been in this current form less than a decade, but has the voice and mannerisms of an ancient man most of the time.
SPECIES: Floating ensorcelled mask.
DESCRIPTION:
Paku is best described as a floating mask. While he frequently takes the form of an "aged man" for his face and voice with regular clients, different witnesses and beings remember differing apperances and forms, as he is prone to changing his look through mystical shifting. One client will end up speaking to a churlish, bird-like visage, while a naother will encoutner a feminine, soft procelain mask with a featureless sheen.
Paku's voice seems to always match his "face," ranging from the booming roar of an oni the shadows whisper of a ghost to the cheerful, yet strangely sinister intonations of an elderly man. His personality ad tone will change mid-conversation, however, takign on the form of a roaring demon as he berates someone, or the tone of a gregarious, friendly negotiator while looking like a caricature of a fat, joyful merchant.
In term's of actula personality, Paku is something of a mystery

PROFESSION: Thief and spy.
WEALTH: Not much. Coming to this land has lowered ihs assets considerably.
COMBAT ROLE: "Fly around and pray they don't land a hit." Or, back in the old country, "order several assassins to handle the murdering for me." While he could bite someone with fangs in certain visages, Paku isn't much for combat.
STRENGTHS:
Can't touch this: Due to a relative lack of size and the ability to fly, Paku is severely hard to hit.
Sitting alone on a shelf--all by itself: Paku is a master at pretending to be a harmless inanimate object, a powerful tool for stealthy infiltration.
Can't read my, can't read my, no they can't my Mah-johng face: Paku was a brilliant liar and thief back when he had a body.
I believe I can fly: The mask can float around and levitate.
Welcome to the show: Hamminess aside, Paku is quite the performer in terms of voice and song, and can certainly go form stealthy to distracting rather quickly.
Livin on the Edge: Paku has found no evidence that hsi current form ages, although he does still need to drink, eat and breath.
WEAKNESSES:
Transformation central: He can change his appearance, but he can't manifest a body. This is a bit of an inconvenience, as most people design a large amount of things for people with thumbs.
Too great a burden to bear: Paku is strong enough lift his own body weight while levitating, albeit slowly. Taht soudns great until you realize he weighs about 10 pounds (4.5 KG's for you metric types)
That's why I said Nice Shot: If you cna hit him, he's pretty fragile.
There's (no) magic in my eyes: Despite the ability to pretend otherwise, Paku's power is actually quite limited.
MAJOR MOTIVATIONS: Power, and revenge. Thankfully, a land in chaos is a great place to gather resources.

MAGIC: Aside from the levitation and appearance shifting, the only other magic Paku has learned is a little bit of harmless pyrotechnics. He can scare up a little lightshow to spook people, but that is the real limit of his glorious power. Of course, with a well-timed bluff and a few good lines, that little lightshow can scare off quite a few people.
BACKGROUND:
Paku, thief of Yamazan, comes from over the seas, having arrived here some thre years ago. Msot of the written records of Paku have been destroyed, but it is sid that he led a failed rebellion, and for his crimes of banditry and rebellion, he was supposedly executed, twenty years ago. However, for reasons ommitted from offical records, he was instead sold as a slave to a wizard, and had his soul bound to a magic mask to serve as a slave. For over a decade, he toiled, working as a secret spy, until he was able to arrange his master's assasination. However, in order to do so, he had to reveal large parts of the plot surrounding his ensorcelement, which led to not only the mad wizard's execution, but he himself being hunted as an "abomination" and a "creature of dark magic." Stealing away on a boat headed for the empire, playing the part of a humble mask, only awakening to steal food, he scrounged and scavenged, biding his time and feeding on lowly rats and sea goods.
Now, having been in the land a few months, Paku, now the self-described "Master Paku," is attempting to attract a following of other spies and mystics, in roder to exploit the chaos in which this land finds itself. Of course, a few dumb sell-swords and a good group of bandits might be enough to start.....
