A Chilly Alliance

The Fae woman paused as she stepped back out into the mortal realm. Wind whipped across snow-covered heights and sent a stinging powder flying into her face. A wide, predatory grin spread across her face as she stepped lightly across the powder. Word had been set and arrangements meant between one of the vampire clans, the winter court, and some of the goblins. An alliance was being formed.
At least, that was the intention. With the overthrow of the vampire empress in the south, the summer court was growing too strong. A warmth was creeping ever-northwards and ever-higher into the mountains. She could feel it in her bones as the power of her court slowly diminished. That, she would not tolerate. Pale roads led before her and climbed ever higher towards her destination- the stronghold of the Ciarach clan, to meet with one of their leaders, one called Mairi.
Vampires amused her with their pretensions to immortality (which they truly knew nothing of) and of glamour over the mortals. Yet, they had more use to her than mortals did, especially these younger types of vampires. They were far more suited to the world than their elder kindred.
She paused at the gates as guards looked her over. One only had to look at her to realize who, and what, she was. Her eyes were a strange milky white, with no pupil at all. Her skin was white as snow and her hair also. As wind rippled her dress around her, she could almost be seen as a hallucination within the snow. Or, as she preferred, a manifestation of winter storms. Oh yes, that was her.
The doors opened and she swayed inside as they slammed shut behind her. With an escort of soldiers, she allowed them to guide her to the meeting room.
Oh, this would be excellent. Most amusing.
